Ken Knepper often tells people he is a banker by trade and journalist by gene pool.
In 26 years of work in the newspaper industry, which took him to Nebraska and Iowa before returning to Kansas in 2007, Knepper served in a variety of positions including production manager, advertising director, general manager, editor and publisher.
Now employed as Vice President of business development at The Citizens State Bank in Newton and Hesston, Kansas, Knepper helps commercial clients with business accounts, cash management and a variety of lending needs.
As a second generation journalist, when he is not working with area business owners or serving on local organizations’ boards of directors, he writes a column, “Conversation Piece,” which he has published for more than 20 years. You can find it in Newton Now and The Clay Center Dispatch.
